President, PM praise Pakistan’s incredible win over South Africa

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended their congratulations to the nation following Pakistan’s impressive win over South Africa in the tri-nation One Day International (ODI) series.

Pakistan secured a remarkable six-wicket victory over South Africa in an eliminatory match of the ongoing Tri-Nation Series on Wednesday, thanks to a record-breaking 260-run partnership between skipper Mohammad Rizwan and vice-captain Salman Ali Agha.

The partnership, the highest in an ODI run chase for Pakistan, propelled the team into the series final after successfully chasing down a challenging 353-run target at the National Bank Stadium.

The impressive victory and the duo’s historic partnership have garnered widespread praise from fans, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the Green Team and expressed hope that they would maintain their winning streak in the series.

Prime Minister Sharif congratulated the team on X, expressing that the win was an important morale booster ahead of the upcoming Champions Trophy. “Well played team Pakistan! An important boost ahead of the Champions Trophy. The team’s morale is high. Well done team Pakistan Kudos to team management and Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi,” he wrote.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also praised the team’s performance, saying, “Pakistani players played magnificently and chased down a tough target. This win and qualification for the series final has blessed the nation with happiness.” He commended Rizwan for playing a captain’s innings and praised Agha’s knock of 134 runs.
