Janhvi Kapoor vogues in a lime green Anamika Khanna outfit
Janhvi Kapoor has been giving a lot of fun, quirky, and Gen-Z-approved stylish looks of late. Whether it is during her promotional events for her latest movies, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Param Sundari, or during her friend’s wedding events.
During a recent event, the actor wore a stunning lime green outfit by designer Anamika Khanna. The actor-designer duo’s partnership has consistently made heads turn when they’ve collaborated. Whether it was at Janhvi’s Cannes debut this year, where she wore a backless mint green gown with a custom sculpture to complement it, or the custom ivory lehenga she wore to an event in late October, they were mesmerising.
So this latest Anamika Khanna look is no different.
Janhvi wore a lime green strapless corset with a snatched waist and exaggerated hips. It featured embroidery in contrasting shades of blue and hints of pink and purple floral design. She paired it with a matching draped green skirt with a fringe element that adds a soft, flowy element to this overall structured look.
Styled by Meagan Concessio, Janhvi carried a custom handcrafted mini clutch that was created by Meera Mahadevia. It was a light pink purse with embroidery and burnished gold hardware that matched the Anamika Khanna look while also standing out in its contrasting colour.
She accessorised the look with turquoise blue earrings and a kada that also has turquoise stones on it. Janhvi’s hair was styled in a slicked bun with an elaborate twist. For her glam, she had a dark mauve lipstick and dark eyes with her lashes heavily coated with mascara.
Janhvi Kapoor on how “Humanity is in shambles”
In a conversation with journalist Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story, Janhvi Kapoor spoke about the “voyeuristic nature of journalism, media culture, and social media,” comparing it with what happened to veteran actor Dharmendra’s family and her experience during the death of her mother, actor Sridevi.
Calling the situation depressing, she said, “Humanity and morality are in shambles. Earlier, we had a conscience that stopped us from seeing certain things, saying certain things, and indulging in certain practices. That’s out the window now. It’s disgusting that our modern-day crisis is the loss of morality because everything has become so voyeuristic.”
Recalling how she wasn’t allowed to watch TV after her mother’s demise, Janhvi continued, “I wasn’t allowed to watch TV for a lot of that phase, but things still kept coming up. It hurt me as a daughter, and it was confusing. I don’t think I will ever recover from it. But my anger wasn’t just as a daughter; it was about what we, as a society, have become. Why does anyone think this is okay?”
