WhatsApp is working on a feature that will enable users to add and manage multiple user accounts without switching devices or relying on WhatsApp Business.

This new feature will be available in a future update, WABetaInfo reported, citing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.9.10.70 update, which is available on the TestFlight app

Popular Meta-owned instant messaging app’s new feature will allow users to add a second account directly from the app settings. One important aspect of this update is that WhatsApp might redesign the settings page to accommodate this new feature.

In addition, users will see their profile picture displayed in the settings tab bar once they add a second account, making it easier for them to differentiate between accounts.

WhatsApp is working on two primary methods to add a second account. The first option will allow users to set up the second account as a new profile by registering with a phone number.

The second option will enable users to link a new account by scanning a QR code from their primary device.

The new multi-account feature will ensure that settings for each account remain independent, eliminating any potential confusion.

For instance, notifications, backups, auto-download media settings, and other preferences will be unique for each account, helping users maintain a clear distinction between personal and professional profiles.

This separation allows for tailored experiences with distinct tones and alert settings for each account.

At this stage, WhatsApp is still working on fine-tuning these features to ensure smooth performance across devices and accounts, including optimising the sync process, ensuring that profile changes, messages, and notifications are seamlessly integrated between accounts.

However, an exact launch date for the new feature has not yet been announced.
